MLGSCA/NCNMLG Joint Meeting 2013 Registration Still Open until July 21st

For those last minute decision makers among us, registration remains open until July 21st for the 2013 joint meeting of the Medical Library Group of Southern California & Arizona and the Northern California and Nevada Medical Library Group.

MLGSCA sponsors Evidence Based Practice Continuing Education class

MLGSCA is planning a CE event for early March 2012.  Former MLA president Connie Schardt, with other experienced instructors, will conduct  an in-person class titled “Information Treasure Hunt: Supporting Evidence-Based Practice @ Your Institution.”

This class will include 8 hours of CE credit and will take place at UCLA. Details (including exact date, registration costs, and start time) are being finalized. Watch this blog and the MLGSCA listserv for more information over the next month.

This project has been funded in whole or in part with Federal funds from the Department of Health and Human Services, National Institutes of Health, National Library of Medicine, under Contract No. HHS-N-276-2011-00009-C with the UCLA Louise M. Darling Biomedical Library.

The MLGSCA Nominating Committee is beginning the process of putting a slate of candidates together for the 2011 election.  The election will be for the year that being July 2011.

This year we have 5 offices to fill.  They are as follows:

• President elect – – 3 yr term: pres elect, president, nominating committee chair
• Secretary — 1 yr term
• Treasurer — 2 yr term
• MLG Nominating Comm – – 2 spots, -2 yr term
• Nominee to MLA Nominating Committee

If you are interested in one of these positions or know someone who you feel would be a good candidate for one of these positions, please let one of the nominating committee members know ASAP.
